Equated runs on a real double-entry general ledger. The same standard accountants use. The books you work in are the final books. There’s no shadow spreadsheet and no separate close-time copy.

You work in a simple view

You don’t think in debits and credits. Equated gives you a familiar transactions list where each bank transaction can be:
  • Categorized to an account
  • Split across several accounts, or
  • Marked as a transfer between your own accounts
Each write creates the correct accounting entries for you.

Entries are the source of truth

Every financial event is recorded as a balanced entry. Your balances, P&L, and statements come straight from those entries. Never from raw bank data. That’s what makes the numbers accurate and auditable.

Every category is a real account

A category in Equated is a real account in your chart of accounts. Not a loose label. “Wages” is an expense account. Your checking is an asset. You get simplicity with accuracy.

Reports come from the ledger

Your P&L, cash flow, balance sheet, and accounts are always current because they come straight from the ledger. Nothing else. Your AI reads the same statements through the API, so it can check its work against the numbers you see.

Confirmed books, and what the bank did

Your P&L and balance sheet count the transactions you’ve confirmed. That’s what makes them the version you can hand to an accountant. Cash flow counts everything, confirmed or not, because the money left your account either way. So books you haven’t reviewed yet can show a full cash flow and an empty P&L at the same time. That gap is your inbox, not missing data. Your AI knows the difference. Ask what you’re burning and it reads cash flow. Ask for a statement and it reads your confirmed books, and it can fold the inbox in when you want the two to line up.
